H.E. ALI AL-NAIMI WILL RECEIVE THE DEWHURST AWARDFebruary 20th 2008 Once again the World Petroleum Council has selected an outstanding individual to honour with the prestigious Dewhurst Award: H.E. Ali Al-Naimi, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. Nearly 75 years ago, in 1933, Mr. Thomas Dewhurst (1881-1973), then President of the Institute of Petroleum in UK, organised what was to become the first World Petroleum Congress. The Dewhurst Award is a tribute to him and to the person invited to deliver the Dewhurst Lecture as an acknowledgement and celebration of scientific and technological excellence in the petroleum industry. As one of the most inspirational leaders in the global oil and gas sector for many years, Ali Al-Naimi is a worthy recipient of the Dewhurst Award for the 19th World Petroleum Congress. H.E. Ali Al-Naimi will attend the 19th WPC in Madrid in July to present the official Dewhurst Lecture. |
