LARGEST GLOBAL OIL & GAS EXHIBITION TO BE HELD IN MADRIDJune 2nd 2008 The World Petroleum Exhibition and the Global Business Opportunities Centre (GBOC) will form one of the largest global oil and gas exhibitions ever held with over 35,000sqm of space already confirmed. The exhibitions will accompany the 19th World Petroleum Congress to be held on the 29th of June – 3rd of July in Madrid, Spain. During the 4 day event exhibitors from 52 countries will showcase their activities, products and services to the oil and gas community. The exhibitions will be held within the same venue as the Congress and have been fully integrated in the technical programme in order to provide a close synergy between the two. The Global Business Opportunities Centre has been reserved for the 60 member countries of the World Petroleum Council. This prestigious section will feature exhibits from the largest national oil and gas companies and associations worldwide. The World Petroleum Congress provides a unique opportunity for visitors to meet with the key petroleum organisations from across five continents. National Committees that have already confirmed include amongst others, Algeria, Angola, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, India, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, USA and Venezuela. This year has also seen an impressive number of companies attending as part of national groups including Spain with 58 exhibitors and the UK with 35 exhibitors. China, Russia and Italy have also seen a record number of exhibitors and space booked. The World Petroleum Exhibition also includes some of the world’s largest international companies such as, BP, Chevron, CNOOC, ConocoPhillips, Dragados Industrial, Ecopetrol, ExxonMobil, ENI, Fluor, Gazpromneft, GE Oil & Gas, Repsol, Qatar Petroleum, Saudi Aramco, Schlumberger, Sinochem, Sinopec, StatoilHydro, Total, Weatherford and many more. Highlights of the exhibitions include the Poster Plaza, an interactive area providing access to the posters and the possibility to contact and meet their authors; the Social Responsibility Global Village, which will showcase NGO and industry partnership projects; the Youth Centre, this exhibition area will have a number of activities and presentations for young professionals and students and will give them the opportunity to meet with key industry experts and also the Media Village, an area of the exhibition where participants can meet the international media partners and gather further industry information. |
