SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR WPC EXCELLENCE AWARDS CLOSING 29 FEBRUARY

Every three years the World Petroleum Council bestows the WPC Excellence Awards in the categories of Technical Development and Social Responsibility. Recognising exceptional achievements in the oil and gas industry the Awards, created in 1933, will be presented during the official inauguration ceremony of the 19th World Petroleum Congress in Spain.

The WPC Excellence Awards (WPC EA) distinguish companies, institutions or any public or private organisation (not individuals) engaged in the oil and gas industry for promoting or operating with high excellence standards in the area of technological development and social responsibility. Proposals for outstanding projects and initiatives in either or both categories have to be received before the 29th February 2008. Submissions can be made at www.world-petroleum.org

A panel of independent judges will select two winners in each category from respectively a large and small business each. In addition two runners-up will be recognised with highly commended awards within each category.
